APRS
APRS stands for Automatic Postion Reporting System, and is a means of tracking a moving object through use of a Global Positioning System receiver and other simple Amateur Radio Equipment (often including a personal computer). This technology becomes extremely useful in the event of an emergency, as any properly equipped object can be tracked anywhere in the world on your computer screen! In the meantime, it serves as yet another aspect of the hobby of Amateur Radio. Follow this link for additional information: ARRLWeb: Position Reporting with APRS.
